Texas Roadhouse sets opening date for new Ann Arbor-area restaurant

National casual-dining chain Texas Roadhouse plans to open its new Ann Arbor-area restaurant Nov. 16.

The company also plans to hire about 200 people to staff the new restaurant at the Pittsfield Place development in the Meijer outlots on Ann Arbor-Saline Road.

The 7,200-square-foot facility has been under construction for several months.

"We're just very grateful that the area has welcomed us as well as they have," Kristen Morris, a managing partner with Texas Roadhouse, said in a press release.

Morris said construction is moving along well and interior work is underway. Training for staff will be done on site and begin a week before the scheduled opening date.

Morris said experienced is preferred, but not a requirement. Around 25 to 35 corporate trainers will be on site for the days leading up to the opening to train and see the staff through the first few days.

Interested applicants can stop by a hiring trailer set up in the parking lot of the restaurant. The trailer will be staffed from Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based chain operates more than 450 restaurants in 49 states.

Texas Roadhouse joins other national restaurant chains, Subway, Five Guys Burger & Fries, Pancheros and Bob Evans as tenants at Pittsfield Place. Bob Evans is also expected to open in November while the other restaurants are already operating.

The development is also home to Sport Clips, Eye Glass World, AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
