Malibu's PCH Parking Study Special Meeting Announced To Review Draft

The report includes a review of the existing parking conditions and recommendations to improve parking on PCH within the city's limit.

MALIBU, CA -- There will be a special Public Safety and Public Works Commission on Wednesday to review the draft final report of the PCH Parking Study, the city of Malibu announced.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.

A Safety Study released in June 2015 indicated that almost 15 percent of all collisions along Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2014, were related to parking and parking maneuvers.

The city launched the PCH Parking Study at the end of 2015 to build upon the findings of the Safety Study. The draft report, which was released last Wednesday, includes a review of the existing parking conditions, an assessment of safety and mobility, and recommendations to improve parking along PCH within the Malibu City limits, Malibu spokesman Matt Myerhoff said.

Stantec Engineering, the firm that completed the Safety Study, was selected to conduct the Parking Study.
