CAREER: After inheriting a single Australian newspaper from his father, Sir Keith, he built an empire in Australia with the Daily Mirror and the Australian and later expanded to The Times of London and the Sunday Times in Britain, the New York Post, Twenty-First Century Fox and Fox News in the U.S., the Sky satellite broadcasting network in Europe, and the Star TV network in India. In 2013 News Corp. split into two businesses, with the newspaper operations staying with News Corp. and the more profitable film and TV businesses became Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.

CURRENT TITLE: Co-chief operating officer and board member of Twenty-First Century Fox and board member of News Corp.

CAREER: Shares the COO role at Twenty-First Century Fox with Chase Carey, the company’s president. Past roles include chairman and CEO of Star India from 2000 to 2003, CEO of Sky (then British Sky Broadcasting) from 2003 to 2007 and chairman of Sky from 2007 to 2012. Was embroiled in the News of the World phone hacking scandal along with his father. Both Murdochs denied responsibility for the hacking.

CAREER: Founded private investment firm Illyria Pty. Former deputy chief operating officer of News Corp. and had oversight of Harper Collins before the split of News Corp. and Twenty-First Century Fox. Was named non-executive co-chairman of each company in March 2014.
