The Bangladesh national team is training and getting warmed up ahead of the big series against Australia in Mirpur. The Tigers’ physiotherapist Thihan Chandramohan suffered an accident during his vacation in Australia. The physio along with the head coach of Bangladesh team Chandika Hathurusingha traveled to Australia where they have a family to have a holiday after the busy and tough campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales.

The physio suffered a serious accidental blow when he was vacationing in Australia with his family. He was immediately taken to the nearby hospital. The hospital doctors will now conduct the further treatment. Thihan has not been with the national team in their training session at Mirpur.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had appointed Thihan Chandramohan as the National Team’s interim physiotherapist for the tour of Sri Lanka in March, previously this year. The 37-year Australian is an experienced sports physiotherapist as he has worked with many county teams in the past including the likes of Hampshire County Cricket Club in UK, Victoria Stars and Victoria Bushrangers in Australia. Earlier the BCB had also rejected former physio Dean Conway’s contract after they were not satisfied with his pay scale.

Authorities were not aware

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) didn’t know about the physio’s accident. All the officials were a little worried as he had been absent for a while now. The Tigers coach Chandika Hathurusingha informed the BCB officials about the incident and explained them the whole situation.
