Woman accused of robbing store, stealing customer's car

Update, Thursday: A woman suspected of robbing a Colerain Township store Wednesday is scheduled to be arraigned in Hamilton County Municipal Court on Thursday.

Jessica Schmidt, 27, demanded money from the manager and an employee at the Dollar General at 9529 Pippin Road, and threatened to shoot them, police said in court records. The manager gave Schmidt an unknown amount money. Schmidt then fled the store after she took car keys from a store customer, police said.

She led police on a vehicle chase in the stolen green 2002 Ford Escape, police said.

Schmidt is facing one count each of receiving stolen property, possession of drug abuse instruments and misuse of credit cards.

Previous report: Police are searching for a woman accused of robbing a Dollar General in Colerain Township and stealing a getaway car Wednesday morning.

The woman allegedly robbed the store, located at 9529 Pippin Road and stole a customer's green Ford Escape to flee police.

Officers pursued the woman in the area of Kirby and Glenview avenues. Dispatch said the woman sped through a construction zone at an "extremely high rate of speed" during the chase.

The woman abandoned the stolen car in the area of Marlowe and Lantana Avenues and fled on foot.

A police K-9 unit is tracking the woman in the area.
