HTC has outed a brand new One M9+ Prime Camera Edition, a few weeks after quietly launching the One M9 Prime Camera Edition in Germany. The former is currently listed on the brand’s India e-store and has apparently made its way to a few third-party outlets as well.
The HTC One M9+ Prime Camera Edition is priced at Rs 23990 and will apparently be sold through the official website soon. The new offering continues the company’s confusing naming strategy and practice of producing multiple versions of the same device. In this case, the handset seems like a rehash of the HTC One M9+ with watered-down specs to make it more affordable.
Notable downgrades include a 5.2-inch 1080p resolution screen in place of the original HTC phone’s 2K one and a 13MP primary camera replacing the previous variant’s 20MP shooter. However, the new smartphones does come equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) which is probably where the Prime Camera Edition moniker comes from.

The One M9+ Prime Camera Edition is powered by the same 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor as its more expensive predecessor. However, the SoC only has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM to help it tackle its tasks this time round. Even the battery capacity of the device remains unchanged at 2840mAh.
