Jack Daniel’s officials announced today the opening of a retail location in Marathon Village by month’s end.

Terms of the lease were not disclosed in a release.

The opening of the retail business — to be called the Nashville General Store and to offer specialty Jack Daniel’s products and gifts in a “boutique environment” — comes as the iconic whiskey making operation celebrates its 150th anniversary.

The shop will have an address of 1305 Clinton Street and span 1,500 square feet. The release does not note the cost to get the store operational.

According to the release, the store will highlight the Jack Daniel’s whiskey making experience with interactive displays that showcase Jack Daniel’s process of crafting whiskey, including the distilling process, charcoal mellowing and barreling.

Louisville-based Brown-Forman Corp. has owned Jack Daniel’s and its Lynchburg distillery since 1956.
