Amarillo police are investigating an attempted armed robbery Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings, 9511 East Interstate 40.

The suspect is described as a white male. At the time of the incident he was wearing a gray plaid jacket, a black ski mask and blue jeans. Police said he is about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and has a slim build.

At 2:23 a.m. Saturday, an employee was sitting in a chair by the manager's office when the suspect entered the back door of the restaurant, pointed a gun at the employee and demanded the office door be opened, police said in a news release.

Police said the employee told the suspect the door could not be opened and went to get a manager. The employee then alerted the other staff and everyone left the building.

Officers arrived and checked the building but the suspect had fled.

No one was injured and the suspect did not take anything from the business.

Anyone with information is asked to call Amarillo Police Department at 806-374-4400.
