Flir Systems Inc. Profit Rises 38% In Q3

Flir Systems Inc. (FLIR) announced earnings for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $73.07 million, or $0.52 per share. This was higher than $52.86 million, or $0.37 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.41 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.7% to $381.93 million. This was up from $375.37 million last year.
