Fourteen rifles and shotguns were stolen Thursday afternoon from a Poconos home, and state police said Friday they’re about to arrest a suspect.

The guns were taken in a burglary at the Robert Bolles home on Williams Drive, Middle Smithfield Township, about 6 miles northeast of East Stroudsburg, state police at Swiftwater said.

The firearms were recovered Friday in Stroud Township, police said, when a passer-by noticed a “suspicious bag” in a field behind the Big Lots store on Milford Road.

The firearms were removed from two gun cabinets some time between 3:30 and 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, police said. A few other items also were stolen, police said.

The suspect’s name will be released when an arrest is made, police said.
