Shares of NIIT gained 4.8 percent intraday Monday on getting a 5 to 10 years contract from Norwegian oil & gas company Statoil, ASA.
"With this contract, NIIT's corporate learning group will provide comprehensive managed training services for a period of 10 years, renewable after the first five years," said the IT training services provider.
After a successful partnership between Statoil and NIIT for over the last five years, NIIT has now outcompeted some of the world's top companies in this space on both quality and cost.
"Winning this competitive tender is not only a reinforcement of the work we have done with Statoil over the past five years but also bears testament to the fact that leading companies in the world can trust NIIT to deliver the highest quality and value of learning outsourcing services," said Sapnesh Lalla, president, NIIT Corporate Learning Group.
At 14:22 hours IST, the scrip of NIIT was quoting at Rs 39.10, up Rs 0.60, or 1.56 percent on the BSE.
