Build-A-Bear Workshop issues recall for 35,000 stuffed animals due to choking hazard

Build-A-Bear Workshop issued a voluntary recall for one of its stuffed animals due to a potential choking hazard.

According to the company, young children may be able to get their hands on the stuffing of the Starbrights Dragon due to a weakness in the satin seam on the middle section of the animal.

No injuries have been reported to Build-A-Bear.

About 33,600 units were sold in the United States and another 1,000 in Canada.

"At Build-A-Bear Workshop, we recognize the great responsibility we have to provide our guests with products that are safe and fun," the company said in a statement on its website. "Safety is a key part of our brand values and has been since we were founded 17 years ago."

Customers who purchased the Starbrights Dragon are asked to exchange it for another animal at their local Build-A-Bear Workshop.

The dragons were sold at Build-a-Bear workshops between April 2015 and August 2015. They carry a tracking label that ends with either 9333 or 9334 in the United States or in 9337 or 9459 in Canada.
