MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police were called to the Corning Village Apartments on Monday after an incident that sent one person to the hospital.

Investigators said a 24-year-old was shot and taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

According to a witness a on the scene, the victim was being beaten by another person, when the suspect got into a car and hit the victim.

The car then hit a gas line on the building and caused a gas leak.

At some point, the suspect started firing shots at the man.

Police said they do not have any suspect information at this time.

Corning Apartments are located in the 1400 block of Briercrest Lane in Frayser.
