Whole Foods Shreveport now hiring
Whole Foods Market Shreveport is now accepting job applications for a variety of positions.
Full-time and part-time work is available for applicants 18 years or older. The store is hiring employees for 100 positions including cashier, cooks, cake decorator, stockers, department managers, etc. The long-awaited store is the first in Shreveport-Bossier City and the seventh in Louisiana. Many residents have been questioning whether the store will locate in Shreveport, but the wait is over and preparations are underway.
“We’ve had a tremendous response from the community since first announcing our plans to open a store in the Shreveport-Bossier City area,” said Mark Dixon, president of Whole Foods Market’s Southwest Region in a news release. “We can’t wait to open our doors and give the Shreveport community a new option for shopping, dining and gathering with friends and family.”
The building is still under renovation, said Louisiana Marketing Field Associate Kristina Bradford.
"They're hard at work installing the fixtures and decor," she said.
The 39,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open Nov. 16 at Fern Marketplace, 1380 E. 70th Street. Additional details regarding the amenities will be shared as the opening gets closer, Bradford said.
However, the store will support local farmers, producers and artisans by buying independently. Allegro's coffees and teas will be featured in the coffee/juice bar, and the store will only sell personal care products that aren't tested on animals. There will also be a prepared food bar that will include pizza and sushi, Bradford said.
“I’m thrilled for Whole Foods Market to open in Shreveport this November,” said store team leader Ralph White in a news release. “We’re excited to offer new and local products, develop strong partnerships with our neighbors, and deliver a shopping experience unlike anywhere else.”
