Police swarmed a north side neighborhood Monday night after another person reported seeing what might be a lion.Police were called to 30th Street and Fairmount Avenue around 7 p.m. for what they're calling an unconfirmed lion sighting.That's the same area where a police sergeant confirmed seeing what could be a large cat on Saturday.A search of the area has turned up nothing.Milwaukee police also received a lion sighting Monday morning.Many residents in the area where a lion-like animal was spotted in Milwaukee said they were outside for hours Sunday, watching as police investigated.One woman said she actually saw the creature and ran.Watch the mobile report"I don't even know what was on my mind to even go and look, but I did and we saw him, me and my daughter saw him sitting there,” Carolyn Love said. "When we walked across the street he was just sitting there, so we (ran) back to my house,” she said.Not long after that the neighborhood filled with dozens of law enforcement officers, according to Love.Love said the animal she saw sitting near Lincoln Creek was definitely a lion.She said after seeing it for herself, she has a message for people who still aren’t convinced.“People (have) been saying it all over town, and you don't think, ‘Hmm, OK, if it was a lion they would've caught him.’ He's real," Love said.Celia Jones’ kids play outside often."I'm concerned for my kids’ safety because I don't want them to be attacked by a lion or a cougar because that's fatal and that is scary,” Jones said.Many residents said they can hardly believe what unfolded."I've been living here for 30-some years and I (have) never seen a lion over in the creek. I done seen a lot of things, but a lion? No," Love said.Milwaukee police said another lion report was taken Monday morning on West Lawn Avenue.  Officers are in the area, but have not spotted a loose animal.WISN 12 News reporter Mike Anderson spoke with some people who were offering to help in the search.Chris Johnson works for a local drone company."Personally, I wanted to come out and hopefully see a non-lethal resolution, and I think it's pretty unique that this is happening in Milwaukee right now,” Johnson said.David Schneider better known as "Critter Dave" to many local schools was beating the bushes near 31st Street and Fairmount Avenue."What I see here is a pathway made by man, you can see by the cut off limbs, but by the same token it's an easy path way for a large animal to get in and out of the brush to the water and back,” Schneider said.VIDEO: Curiosity continues about search for lionA witness told WISN 12 News over the weekend that when he saw the lion-like animal it was wet.Schneider said he's been an exotic animal enthusiast all his life. He owned a pet store for many years, worked for the Waukesha County exotic animal rescue squad and has done many animal presentations at schools. He imagines the stories he could tell if he spotted the lion."I just walked along the river, checked under the bridges, too, because that would be a shaded place for them to go, cool on the cement. Couldn't find anything,” Schneider said.Police said they got 14 calls over the weekend from people claiming they saw the big cat.
