Child, seven others shot in Baltimore

Eight people, including a 3-year-old girl, were wounded Saturday night in central Baltimore in a retaliatory shooting, police said.

Baltimore police said none of the wounds appeared to be life-threatening. The girl’s father was among those hit. Police said they were looking for three attackers, one with a shotgun and two with handguns.

The shootings occurred near Greenmount Avenue and Preston Street about 8:30 p.m.

Police seek identity of woman in fraud case

Montgomery County police said a woman racked up $12,000 in fraudulent charges on credit cards apparently stolen from a patron at a Bethesda restaurant.

On Aug. 18, the victim slung her purse over the back of her chair while eating at Cosi, in the 7200 block of Woodmont Avenue. After receiving an alert from her bank, she discovered that her wallet with the cards had been taken from her purse, police said.

Police said a woman used the victim’s cards to make $12,000 in purchases at a Target in Rockville and at stores at the Westfield Montgomery mall.

Officials asked anyone with information about the woman to call the county’s Crime Solvers line at 866-411-TIPS (8477).

Man arrested in fatal Woodbridge shooting

A man was fatally shot Friday night in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County after an argument, police said.

Police said they arrested Juan Manuel Polanco, 27, of Woodbridge, and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of Francin Jose Solano Campo, 23, of Woodbridge.

The shooting was reported about 8:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of Wyndale Court, police said.
