Sarasota Memorial Adds New Lighting, Saves Energy

Sunovia Energy Techologies, Inc. has completed the installation of EvoLucia-brand LED lighting fixtures at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the second-largest public hospital in Florida.

Sarasota Memorial increased visibility in their parking lots by installing 75-watt EvoLucia brand LED cobra lights, replacing 250-watt metal halide cobra lights, and reduced their electricity use by 67 percent. Spotlights on the grounds were replaced with 24-watt EvoLucia UTL-1 utility spotlights which reduced the energy use by approximately 90 percent.

"The new LED lamps are more cost-efficient, but more than that, they will improve the security of our campus by providing longer-lasting coverage and cleaner, whiter lighting for improved visibility at night," says Mickey Watson, Sarasota Memorial public safety director. "Our older lights required considerably more maintenance and subsequent costs for replacement parts."

Sunovia's EvoLucia LED lights are maintenance-free and require no lamp replacement for more than 12 years of nighttime use, which additionally reduces upkeep and replacement costs.

"The cost and energy-saving benefits of LED lighting are undeniable," says Ed Kramer, Sunovia director of Sales and Marketing. "LED lighting is no longer the 'future' of lighting; the technology is here now, and Sunovia is advancing it every day to deliver products that are unmatched in performance, quality and durability."
