September 24, 2014: The following stocks are among the 202 equities making new 52-week lows today:

Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd. (NYSE: HMY) dropped about 3.3% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.32. Share volume is about equal to the daily average of around 1.8 million. The stock’s 52-week high is $3.80. We featured this stock in late May as one of our picks under $10 with big upside potential. If you had purchased the stock then at $2.62 you could have sold for a 23% gain in mid-July. If you had bought and held, well, the ending is not so happy.

Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: MDRX) dropped about 2.4% today to post a 52-week low of $13.66. The share price is down just 9% year-to-date, but more than 30% from its 52-week high of $19.68 set in mid-March. The company announced a partnership yesterday with Citra Health Solutions, but the stock didn’t move down until today. Share volume today is more than double the average daily of around 1.7 million shares.

Sears Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: SHLD) dropped about 5.7% today to post a new 52-week low of $26.10. Volume is about 35% above he daily average of around 1 million shares. The company can’t find a buyer for its Canadian stores and the longer it tries to sell assets no one wants, the less valuable the assets become. The stock’s 52-week high is $67.50.

Walter Energy Inc. (NYSE: WLT) sank to a new 52-week low on Tuesday of $2.32. Based on Tuesday night’s closing price of $2.81 that’s a drop of more than 17%. The stock’s 52-week high is $19.50. There was no specific news on the company today, but Walter could be the weakest of the coal miners still standing. Trading volume was nearly 3-tmes higher than the daily average of around 4 million shares.
