OSHKOSH - Toastmasters from around the state of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula will gather May 6-7 for the District 35 Spring Convention at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center in Oshkosh.

The convention hosts the culmination of District 35’s Table Topics and International Speech Contests, which have been taking place since February throughout District 35’s further divided subgroups: clubs, areas, and divisions. In addition to the contests, the convention includes breakout education sessions, a district council meeting, a keynote speech from Sean McCormick, chief technology officer at Harley-Davidson Inc., a visit from local author Randy Domer, and Friday Fun Night activities revolving around Zumba and brain teasers.

“Attendees will have fun, hear top speakers in our district and great keynote speakers,” Deb Martin, convention chair, said. “It is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn how to improve their speeches and leadership; after all, the Toastmaster tag line is, ‘Where leaders are made.’”
