16. Kellys Brew Pub: Likely Albuquerque’s first brewery, the selection here is truly impressive. About 20 in-house brews, from apricot to Scottish and dunkelweizen, decorate a big American menu of entrees and appetizers. This is your spot for sports, and the patio surveys the breadth of Route 66 Nob Hill.

15. Broken Bottle Brewery: On the west side near Cottonwood Mall, this smallish brewpub offers a lot of lower ABV (Alcohol By Volume) selections and a few hefty pours. The titles are really creative (“David Hasselheffe”, “Mulligan Stout”), so consider grabbing a flight of tasters.

14. Albuquerque Brewing Company: This is the new kid on the block, still working out the kinks, but it’s helmed by some ambitious, talented brewmeisters and we anticipate a bright future. Reviews rave about the Imperial Red.

13. Ponderosa Brewing: A relative newcomer to our desert shores, Ponderosa focusses on lesser-known German beer varietals and they offer a full menu of dining options. Tucked away in the burgeoning Sawmill District, this venue offers a kids playroom, so the ‘rents can imbibe without distractions.

12. Chama River Brewing Company: There is more of an upscale restaurant feel here, rather than a traditional brewery.  There is a full kitchen and a broad menu that accompanies the world-renowned beer. This might be a great place to bring a friend who does not love beer as much as you. They can also order a drink from the full bar.

11. Bistronomy B2B: Known for their burgers, this “Nano brewery with Mega flavors” features pours you won’t find anywhere else: coconut porter, raspberry porter and the “Ol’ Yelper”, a red rye named after, you guessed it, Yelp!

10. Lizard Tail Brewing: Lizard Tail might not have food, but that just means more room for beer! Its well known Biscochito Brown is only available during the fall but it has over eight other year-round options.

9. Tractor Brewing Company Wells Park: This local legend began brewing about a decade back out of Los Lunas, and that success led to a tap room in Nob Hill, followed by the mothership in Wells Park, which consistently lands rave reviews on Yelp.

8. Boxing Bear: Boxing Bear Brewing Company is a new brewery/brewpub located just minutes away from Corrales, the North Valley, Taylor Ranch, Ventana Ranch, Paradise Hills and Rio Rancho.  There is an amazing outdoor patio to enjoy those cool New Mexico evenings as well as a large indoor pub for those who prefer enjoyment of craft beverages out of the elements.

7. Red Door Brewing Company: There’s is a Nintendo 64, an extensive variety of beer a and a cider with an ABV of 7 percent. This is a unique brewery in the heart of Albuquerque. A relative newcomer, you’ll love the ambiance around here, and the food trucks will settle your wanton appetite.

6. Turtle Mountain Brewing Company: The well-known brewery in Rio Rancho is also known for the pizza and calzones.  It was voted Rio Rancho’s Best Restaurant in 2012, 2013 and 2014. I recommend making the trip over between 3 and 6 on Mondays through Fridays to catch their happy hour, which includes $1 off of beers.

5. Nexus Brewery: While it’s easy to score a great brew in ABQ, it’s tough to find solid eats in the same place. Reviews of Nexus consistently rate their Southwestern Soul Food as good, if not better, than their terrific selection of pints.

4. Bosque Brewing Company: Bosque Brewing Co. values “quality over quantity, taste buds over easy mass production, and earning our customers’ trust over corporate greed.”  Their refreshing opposition to mass production is what makes the beer stand apart from most. The broad food menu is also a factor for the returning clientele.

3. Canteen Brewhouse: Formerly known as The Il Vicino Brewing Company, so you can definitely expect the food to be delicious. Over the years, the brewery has won over 140 local, national and international awards.

2. Marble Brewery : The beer is just flawless and the staff will help find the beer for anyone’s tastebuds. The real treasure is Downtown Marble’s patio, endowed with a food truck feet away, live music, and Cornhole -- there is absolutely no reason to leave.

1. La Cumbre: Just the mention of La Cumbre will get any avid beer drinker from Albuquerque’s attention, they might bring up the Elevated IPA or the Slice of Hefen.  Located in the industrial district, the ambiance of the brewery (equipped with foosball) is a reason people stick around for another beer.
