PSN users on PS4 and PS3 are reporting issues using Sony's PlayStation Network

UPDATE ONE: The PlayStation support team on Twitter have confirmed that Sony are continuing to investigate what has caused the latest outage to the PSN.

"We are aware that some users are having connectivity issues with PSN this morning," a PlayStation message reads.

"Thanks for your patience as we investigate."

The spike in problems saw many PS4 and PS3 users hit social media to complain about today's problems, one fan wrote: "PlayStation sort this out I've just signed up for a year's worth of PSN from Black Friday."

Users across the UK have reported the service returning in different areas, however it is unclear how long it will take for PSN connectivity to return for the whole country.

Reports from frustrated customers trying to access key online services first started coming in at around 3pm, UK time, leaving fans unable to sign in.

The official PSN support page confirms that Sony are aware of the latest outage and are investigating its cause.

"You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features," the PlayStation support team confirm.

"Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience."

The only PlayStation service currently listed as online is PlayStation Now, the streaming services that allows fans to play older PS3 titles.

It is thought the latest outage is affecting PS4 and PS3 users both in the UK, Europe and North America.

One fan wrote: "I was playing Rocket League, minding my own business... and then I moved on to Bloodborne, and it told me it couldn't verify my PSN account and I had to play offline.

"I restarted the PS4 and now I can't sign back in to PSN."

It is unclear whether the latest outage is connected to Black Friday, Sony are running a list of reduced titles in the PlayStation Store that were announced today.
