The well-known World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star said, "I think that's the goal — is, you know, we wanna tell more of the stories of the characters," addressing the question regarding his past and how it would impact the story line for part 2.

Bautista further explained that he thinks the moviemakers are looking to apply some changes to his character that sport lightning fast reflexes, while also giving fans more of what made the other characters who they are as Guardians.

The "Spectre" star noted that he thinks what makes people love and welcome the Guardians is because the characters are "interesting," and with the producers' and writers' decision to give the audience a glimpse of the leads' back stories, it would gain much more interest from moviegoers and fans alike.

Comic book fans all know Drax the Destroyer as Arthur Douglas, a lowly saxophonist whose clan has been erased by Ronan the Accuser. In part 1 of the franchise, Ronan was introduced, but it was later revealed that Thanos was actually the mastermind whom Drax is searching so he can avenge his fallen family.

Meanwhile, Bautista also told MTV News that "there is going to be a lot more Drax," meaning fans of the mighty Destroyer will definitely see not just more of him in action but most probably more of how he became the fierce fighter of the Galaxy.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
