San Francisco Ticket Demand For 'Hamilton' Crashes SHN Orpheum's Website

This article is more than 7 years old.

Despite only being available to a tiny portion of the States, Hamilton mania has been sky high, with everyone from Mike Pence to Hillary Clinton attending the much touted New York musical, which depicts the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton. It's been the hottest ticket of the year -- and they just took in $35.28 million gross in box office sales over Thanksgiving weekend.

But now the West Coast elite get their chance to enjoy songs about injustice, poverty and segregation, as the show hits the San Francisco Orpheum Theatre from March 10 to August 5th, 2017. Tickets are available for purchase from Monday 12th December at 10am Pacific Time, with a maximum of six allotted per person, and American Express holders get early access at 5am. Tickets are priced $100 - $197 a ticket,  but if the experience is anything like New York, we can expect scalpers to start selling them at hugely inflated Craigslist prices soon.

So far, excitement is so high that the website keeps going down.
