A crew from a Home Depot in Wisconsin pitched in to help a mother looking to build a special staircase for her daughter.
Brenda Santiago’s daughter, Natalee, has a form of dwarfism. This makes it difficult for Natalee to climb in and out of bed and Santiago decided she wanted to make her stairs. She explained the project to Rob Rafalski at Home Depot, who asked Santiago if he could build the staircase for her.
"When you saw Natalee, you just wanted to help in any way, shape or form," said Rafalski. "My heart melted."
Rafalski gathered a team together, who worked in a hurry to build Natalee’s staircase. They finished in time to surprise Natalee with it on Tuesday for her second birthday.
"It was extremely unexpected but I was extremely just in awe," said Santiago.
