This was our first cruise. We have 2 sons - 19 & 16. They enjoyed it as well. There was some initial frustration that we couldn't figure out how to get from one place to another on the same floor. Because of the restaurants, you have to go up or down a floor, go across and then back to the original floor you want. By the 2nd or 3rd day we were able to figure it out. I wish that there was a little more control of the kids that rub around completely unsupervised. Parents think this is a vacation from parenting.... so they let their kids run around the ship and annoy the crap out of everyone else. And Carnival PLEASE can you make all the hot tubs "under 15 require adult supervison".... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!!!! Little kids, 12 & under (I know by the bands they wear) jumping, splashing and acting like idiots in the hot tub every freaking day! Kids running in & out of elevators hitting every button... Ugh...

HOWEVER - our cruise director Wee Jimmy was amazing. He was very entertaining and kept everyone happy and got everyone up and moving. The host - Fluffy- was great too! She was running around, hosting trivia and games all over the ship. She was clearly busy, but always had a smile for you and would stop to talk and answer any questions you may have. Overall the staff was quite exceptional! Our stewards - Angus & Anthony were awesome - they were on the spot with keeping our room straight & organized. By the time we left they knew my sons names & had several conversations with them! The food was good - the buffet was slightly above average but the Chic restaurant was AMAZING. Of course my boys loved the 24 hour pizza and the Guy's burger joint. I think they had a burger EVERY day. For our first experience it was a win! As we walked off the ship, my son asked when we could book another! I look forward to experiencing one of the newer ships - if it is better than the Freedom, I can't wait!!!!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8B

The cabn was not as small as I was prepared for it to be. I think I have had apartments with smaller bathrooms.... so It was very managable for 2 people. If my teenage sons had been in the same room, it would have been too small. The beds were very comfortable & the balcony was SO relaxing.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Embarkation was quick & easy. WE didn't have the Faster to the Fun and we STILL didn't have to wait in any lines. It was great!
