The world’s biggest credit-card lender is blocking bettors in New York from making wagers on daily fantasy sports sites.

Citigroup will no longer process transactions for state residents using websites run by DraftKings or FanDuel until the legality of the sites is determined by the courts, Bloomberg News first reported.

Both sites were sued in November by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who contends that daily fantasy sports are a form of illegal gambling.

A New York judge issued a preliminary injunction ordering the companies to stop taking deposits in the state, but that has since been stayed, pending an appeal.

The sites have continued to accept business in New York while the case continues.

Last week, payment processor Vantiv Entertainment Solutions announced it would no longer facilitate financial transactions with the sites.
