Fluor and Sacyr set up joint operation

5 Oct 15 Sacyr and Fluor have set up a new company in which they each have a 50% stake.

The EU Directorate General for Competition has approved the formation Sacyr Fluor and the acquisition by Sacyr of 50% of Fluor’s Spanish subsidiary.

Sacyr Fluor will provide engineering services and manage engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in the oil and gas sector and the onshore petrochemical industry in Spain, Southern Europe, North Africa and certain countries in South America.

The new company will have over 400 employees, 380 of which from Fluor's operation centres in Madrid and Asturias.

The formation of the joint operation follows the strategic objectives set by Sacyr to boost its industrial business, increasing its market share and capacity to face major business challenges.
