Noteworthy Friday Option Activity: LNG, CPB, LRCX

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Cheniere Energy Inc. (AMEX: LNG), where a total volume of 14,405 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.4 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 57.2% of LNG's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.5 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $45 strike call option expiring December 16, 2016, with 3,049 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 304,900 underlying shares of LNG. Especially high volume was seen for the $60 strike call option expiring December 16, 2016, with 9,565 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 956,500 underlying shares of CPB.
