Avery Dennison Corp. Announces 11% Increase In Q3 Profit

Avery Dennison Corp. (AVY) reported a profit for its third quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $81.3 million, or $0.87 per share. This was up from $73.0 million, or $0.77 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.84 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 5.8% to $1.47 billion. This was down from $1.56 billion last year.
