ICYMI: Banana Republic To Open In Newtown

The store, which offers men's and women's fashions, will open in a 7,000 square-foot space at the Steeple View development on State Street.

Clothing chain Banana Republic will open in Newtown Borough, Steeple View Developer Allan Smith confirmed. Banana Republic is the first tenant to sign a lease agreement in the Steeple View development, The Newtown Advance reported.

The store, which offers men’s and women’s fashions, will open in a 7,000 square-foot space at the development currently under construction on South State Street in Newtown Borough.

The shop will have an entrance on both State Street and at the other side of the building, Smith said. It will be constructed as part of the first phase of the project, which includes a three-story building with retail and residential uses at the former Stockburger site on South State Street.

Founded in 1978, Banana Republic is owned by Gap Inc. and calls itself the “true outfitters of modern American style.”
