Lime Fresh Mexican Grill has closed its locations in Alabama as part of a national restructuring by its parent company, Ruby Tuesday.

Maryville, Tennessee-based Ruby Tuesday (NYSE:RT) announced last week that it would be closing 11 Lime Fresh Mexican Grill locations and selling the remaining eight, all in Florida, to Rubio's Restaurant for $6.3 million.

Huntsville's location in Bridge Street Town Center closed Nov. 5. Birmingham's was located in the Summit and closed previously, but neither Ruby Tuesday nor The Summit responded to requests for the date.

"As we consider Ruby Tuesday's future, we believe it is in our shareholders' best interest that we exclusively operate our namesake brand restaurants," President, Chairman and CEO JJ Buettgen said in a statement.

Birmingham's location opened in 2012 and Huntsville's in 2011.
