Watch These Things Before They Leave Netflix Next Month

There's a lot of new movies and TV coming to Netflix in December, here's what you should watch to make room in your queue.

Well, we didn't see this coming: there's not really anything significant leaving Netflix at the end of November. Nothing we would call "must watch," at least. (Well, some of it is, but you've probably seen it before, so watching is more of a "one last time" kind of deal.)

But! There are a lot of new things coming to Netflix (and other streaming services) in December, so the advice we’ll give to you in these final days of November is: clear out the queue. Haven’t finished Aziz Ansari’s Master of None? Get on that. Still saving a few episodes of Jessica Jones for later? Treat yourself! (Oh, and if you need help figuring out what you should binge over the holiday weekend, we've got you covered.)

That said, there are a few things leaving the streaming service you might find interesting. You’re totally welcome to skip Rastamouse, though.

Leaving December 1

__Batman Begins (2005) __
The first of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy set a whole new tone for the Dark Knight while also re-whetting our appetite for "gritty" superhero fare. While Nolan's subsequent two Bat-flicks were better—particularly The Dark Knight—the one that started it all is still very much worth one last watch before it leaves.

__The Dark Crystal (1982) __
If you don't spend at least one afternoon of your Thanksgiving weekend watching this Jim Henson classic, we're no longer friends. Seriously, just lose our number. Amazing creatures in a wonderfully imagined world—this movie is a dream. And, you can watch it with kids!

__Labyrinth (1986) __
This is the second part of your Jim Henson double feature so it's already required viewing. But don't worry, it won't feel obligatory. Nothing about David Bowie singing "Magic Dance" as Jareth the Goblin King could ever feel obligatory. No you remind me of the babe, Jareth.

__Juice (1992) __
If you ever wondered if Tupac Shakur was as good at acting as he was at rapping, watch this movie. His performance at Bishop is so menacing and real, it's hard to take your eyes off him. And if the appeal of Shakur isn't enough for you, this flick also has a great soundtrack and a very early performance from Nick Fury (aka Samuel L. Jackson).

__Silence of the Lambs (1991) __
First NBC cancels Hannibal and now Netflix is losing Silence of the Lambs? Is there no justice in the world? Sigh... Anyway, director Jonathan Demme's Silence is still one of the most suspenseful and horrifying movies ever made, so please do pour yourself a nice chianti and enjoy this movie one more time (or two or three more times) before it makes its sad goodbye.

Leaving December 11

__The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! (2010-2012) __
Sure, we’ve got two movies, along with ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter, but for those who can’t get enough of anything and everything connected to the Avengers, this animated series is a nice little treat. Also, it already has Janet van Dyne (Wasp), T’Challa (Black Panther), and Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel)—characters that have been unseen, or only teased at, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

__Rescue Me (2004-2011) __
Dennis Leary isn’t everyone's cup of Boston, so this show may not be for you. But if you like what Leary is serving—or just shows about firefighters—this FX original series is a good time.

Leaving December 13

__Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers (2010-2012) __
No, this show doesn’t have anything to do with the Thor and Loki of the MCU. In this particular animated world, Loki has taken rule in Asgard and he’s not played by Tom Hiddleston. (Boooo!) But that doesn’t mean Blood Brothers doesn’t offer some intergalactic god battles that are worth your time. Grab your hammer and dig in.

Leaving December 30

__Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony (2012) __
Feel like you don't already know everything you need to know about the world and fandom of bronies? This documentary will give you everything you need to know.
