Royal Oak will soon be getting a new shopping center developed by Marsh Construction Company. The center is expected to house a new Kroger as well as an onsite Starbucks and gas station.

The project will utilize the space occupied by the former St. Dennis Catholic Church as well as land from the neighboring OUR Credit Union.

“This deal was particularly special because we are working within our own community on a property that used to be an active, beloved church and school. As such, it was important to us to work closely with the Archdiocese, the City of Royal Oak and Kroger to ensure that this property becomes a thriving and functional part of the Royal Oak community once again,” Ryan Marsh, CEO and President of Marsh Construction said in a public statement.

Royal Oak City Commission has approved the development plan, with demolition slated to begin in the fall and the store opening planned for the fall of next year.
