Just months after opening its first Michigan location, the Container Store will open its second Metro Detroit store in mid-September in Troy.

The 23,000-square-foot store on East Big Beaver just west of Rochester Road in Troy Commons will feature 16 lifestyle sections such as closet, kitchen, office, travel, gift packaging and laundry, to help customers get organized.

The store also will offer its the retailer’s free services from their elfa design center, along with its TCS Closets products to create custom closets.

The new store, which officially opens Sept. 17, follows the June opening of the Container Store’s first Michigan location near Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.

Ten percent of proceeds during the Troy store’s grand opening weekend will go to Humble Design, a Pontiac nonprofit that works with formerly homeless families to furnish their new homes.
