WYOMING - The city is set to celebrate the arrival of warmer weather with the annual Spring Carnival at Lamar Park, which will take place during the final week of April and the first week of May.

Area families are invited to come out to the park, located at 2561 Porter St. SW, between Friday, April 27, and Sunday, May 6, to enjoy carnival rides, food and games. The carnival will be in operation from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and 12 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

"What says family fun like a spring carnival?" Rebecca Rynbrandt, director of community services, said. "The carnival is a great opportunity for the community to come out and celebrate the change in seasons in a fun and exciting atmosphere."

Funds raised from the carnival go to the city's Parks and Recreation Department, which uses that money to support youth scholarships and youth and family programming, and to the Greater Wyoming Community Resource Alliance, which distributes funds to the community through an annual grant awarding process.
