Germany's benchmark DAX index closes up

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday advanced slightly by more than 70 points.

The increase was mainly attributed to the balance sheet of some companies, according to local analysts. The blue-chip DAX index added 75.35 points, or 0.7 percent, and closed at 10,907.87 points.

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz, which operates in three business including laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive technologies, saw the greatest gains with an increase of 6.7 percent.

Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. climbed by 2.31 percent and adidas AG surged by 1.79 percent. HeidelbergCement AG rose by 1.73 percent and Allianz SE went up by 1.65 percent.

K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a supplier of standard and specialty fertilizers, slipped by 3.69 percent. Deutsche Post AG plunged by 2.99 percent. Daimler AG shrank by 0.95 percent. Vonovia SE, a residential real estate company, slid by 0.66 percent. Deutsche Bank AG went down by 0.6 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.12 billion euros (around 3.35 billion U.S. dollars ). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 259.37 million euros (around 278.3 million U.S. dollars). Endit
