To get your hands on a complimentary cheeseburger, you simply need to download the free McDonald’s app (available for iOS or Android devices) and head down to your nearest branch.

The offer is redeemable on the app from 10:30am today, and will remain available for five days.

Once the app is downloaded, set up an account and go to the ‘my deals’ section to claim your freebie burger.

The offer is limited to just one cheeseburger per customer, and is redeemable only via orders placed on the McDonald’s app.

The app recognises when you are within 100 metres of your nearest McDonald’s and sends your order to the kitchen, so it’s ready to pick up when you arrive.
