After the first day was washed out, Cheteshwar Pujara batted through Day Two to score an unbeaten 135 off 277 deliveries on comeback as India reached 292 for 8 in the third Test at Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Stadium, Colombo. Pujara, who opened batting, was dropped on 117 when his pull shot was put down by Nuwan Pradeep at square leg. For the rest of the day he was extremely good. India were struggling at 180 for 7 before Amit Mishra came out to join Pujara. The partnership for the eight wicket yielded 104 runs as Mishra dominated with 59.
