Annual Busker Carnival on until Sunday

The 27th annual Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival kicked off Thursday night and it really will be bigger than ever.

Part of the reason is that for the first time ever it will not be held along King Street in the Uptown.

It’s been moved to behind City Hall due to ION construction.

Carnival Chair Randy Warren tells 570 News, this has allowed them to expand the event with more street performers and more vendors.

He says, “It allows us to create a more carnival-like atmosphere complete with tents at the pitches, pennants and lights up above, and an all-in-one midway.”

Warren adds, “You’ll find all your favourite food vendors in one, convenient area along William Street while our many other vendors will frame the new, main space and the performances at the pitches.”

He says there will be some new buskers as well as some that have performed here in the past.

Full information on the carnival, including Park N Ride, performance schedule, busker bios, and location details can be found on the busker website.
