NDA's Sydney Rice wins the Foot Locker XC Northeast Regional junior race

Notre Dame Academy's Sydney Rice recorded a personal best time of 19 minutes, 20 seconds to win the Foot Locker Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships junior race at Van Cortlandt Park, in the Bronx.

Harriers from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C. took to the starting line in the 37th annual competition.

The Gators' Keiana Mitchell placed third in the sophomore race, touring the 5,000-meter infamous trails in 20:03.0. Teammate Jacqueline Thompson was seventh in 20:52.0

According to NDA's coach Al Garcia, Olivia Jaenicke (third team), Rice (first), Ariella Garcia (third), Mitchell (first) and Thompson (first) all made the Foot Locker All-Northeast team.
