October 21, 2016 7:01 PM EDT

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 21, 2016

At the opening of the 29th annual meeting, Psych Congress, the nation's largest independent education conference for leaders in psychiatry and mental health, announced the launch of Elevate by Psych Congress, a new offering that will bring together future leaders in mental health for three days of learning, networking and collaboration. The inaugural gathering will take place March 3-5, 2017 in San Francisco.

Elevate is designed to help early-career clinicians advance their knowledge, their career paths and, ultimately, the field of mental health. The three-day conference and exhibition will include a variety of CME/CE-accredited educational sessions uniquely tailored to the needs of emerging clinicians and will feature the nation's leading minds in psychiatry and mental health, combined with breakout thinkers who challenge the status quo.

Announcing the launch of Elevate was Rakesh Jain, MD, MPH, co-chair of Psych Congress and steering committee member for Elevate. "This educational offering has been created to fill a void in the field. Elevate is a real game changer for how mental health education is delivered, absorbed and activated especially at a critical time when 1 in 5 American adults has a mental health condition (1) and access to care remains limited. This meeting will focus on outcomes what will you do with the information once you're back at the office? How will you interact with the entire mental health team? What new approaches will you consider when working with patients? We don't just want to educate, we want to change behavior and transform the future of mental health the statistics demand it. A key way to accomplish this is to begin with the future leaders of our field."

During Elevate, participants will be guided by new perspectives and connected with a faculty mentor to help them identify and develop their career objectives and answer important questions. Mentors will share insight, tips and resources for career advancement and for overcoming obstacles regularly faced by clinicians. The relationships formed at the meeting will develop into year-round networks for attendees to tap into after the conference ends.

Accredited by the North American Center for Continuing Education (NACCME), Elevate will offer participants the opportunity to earn up to 15.5 CME/CE credits.
