Defiant hero defends Man’s World by buying ticket for women’s-only Wonder Woman screening

The internet’s general lack of chill about the Alamo Drafthouse’s recently announced women’s-only screening of Wonder Woman bumped up another level yesterday—from “not very chill at all” to “Oh God, female Ghostbusters, run!”—when adult boy Stephen Miller decided to stick it to…someone? Presumably?…by purchasing a ticket to the June 8 showing in New York. Miller—who writes for Heatstreet, penning stuff like “Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi Ad Is The Death Knell For Obama’s Beloved Protest Culture” and “Our Children Are Watching: ‘Nasty Women’ Spout Anti-Trump Vulgarities At Women’s March”—spent a day or so complaining on Twitter about the Alamo’s violently non-violent attack on his manhood, before posting a picture suggesting that he’d decided to put his money where his tantrum-hole is.

As Miller has delighted in telling people irritated by his decision—in that “I am speaking calmly, so you must be the asshole” tone so beloved by internet trolls—there’s nothing illegal about purchasing a ticket to a screening. That argument does, though, gloss over the fact that, while barging into a space you’ve been asked to stay out of just because that request made you feel briefly tiny and weak doesn’t make you a criminal, it does make you an insecure piece of shit.

On the plus side, Miller gets to live with the comeuppance for his choices, i.e., having the kind of life where arguing for 12 hours straight with people on Twitter about your dumb, mean-spirited actions delivers some kind of awful inner satisfaction. Miller’s favorite tactic in his trolling is to refer to Wonder Woman as a “Chris Pine superhero movie” and pretend that star Gal Gadot doesn’t exist. (He also likes to lecture people claiming the film is a big step forward for female representation in pop culture, pointing them toward such milestones as Catwoman and Tank Girl.) So, yeah: Just an incredibly toxic and insecure little piece of shit.

Oh, also, this was his response to what movie deserves a “men’s only” screening:

Jesus Christ, this fucking guy.

UPDATE, 5/30/2017: In response to the enormous amount of publicity garnered by its all-female Wonder Woman screenings, the Alamo Drafthouse has released the following statement: “Obviously, Alamo Drafthouse recognizes Wonder Woman is a film for all audiences, but our special women-only screenings may have created confusion—we want everybody to see this film.”
