Mishra appoints new student welfare dean
INDORE: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) acting vice chancellor Prof Ashutosh Mishra appointed Laxmikant Tripathi as new dean student welfare (DSW). Order for his appointment was issued on Wednesday. Tripathi will be third person to hold charge of DSW in last eight months.
With cancellation of deputation of Prof Rajeev Dixit at DAVV, he quit DSW post in December 2014.
After Dixit, who was holding the post for nearly five years, Prof BK Tripathi was appointed as the DSW. Tripathi, who had got additional charge of DSW, resigned from the post in April 2015 on grounds it was affecting teaching activities in his department. This paved way for appointment of Prof Deepak Mehta to the post.
Citing identical reason, Mehta resigned from the post on August 11 after the then vice chancellor Prof DP Singh was appointed as director of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Since Singh had put in his papers as VC of DAVV on August 10, he did not take decision on Mehta's resignation and left it to his successor.
On Wednesday, Mishra accepted resignation of Mehta and appointed Laxmikant Tripathi as new DSW. He will take charge on Thursday.
