Downtown retailers offer Small Business Saturday specials, events

Many downtown retailers are offering specials for Small Business Saturday.

The day drew 88 million shoppers nationwide last year, a 15 percent increase from 2013, according to the National Federation of Independent Business and American Express.

Here’s a look at what downtown businesses are offering:

605 Running Company , 124 S. Phillips Ave. - Kick off Small Business Saturday with a pancake run at 7 a.m. After the group jog, dine on pancakes, sausage, chocolate milk, and orange juice. Beginning at 10 a.m., the store is offering the following deals: Buy a new pair of shoes, get a $15 gift card. Buy two pairs of socks, get the third pair free. Get 20 percent off all jackets, quarter zips and long-sleeve tees. Get 30 percent off all pants shorts and leggings. Buy one accessory get one half-off including foam rollers, hats, gloves, watches, belts and hydration systems. Sale runs through Sunday.

East Bank Yoga , 401 E. Eighth St., Suite 220 - For $5, take the Beginner's Yoga Class With Jill from 9 to 10 a.m.

Engage Paperie , 328 S. Phillips Ave. - Get 20 percent off all items from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a free gift for the first 50 customers.

Fia Rose Boutique , 400 N. Main Ave. - Get 50 percent off all merchandise.

NV Studio Salon , 106 W. 11th St. - Get 20 percent off all products.

Prairie Berry East Bank , 322 E. Eighth St. - Complimentary wine bottle tote and 5 percent off with a purchase of four or more bottles of wine, while supplies last. Complimentary gift wrapping for club members from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m.  Play Beer and Bingo with Vahid Sadrzadeh from KSFY from 4 to 6 p.m.

Prairie Farmers' Market , 300 N. Cherapa Place - Support local vendors at the winter market in the lower level of Cherapa Place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rug & Relic , 401 E. Eighth St., Suite 114 - Kantha Quilt Throws, regularly $99, are on sale for $65. All Chris Vance paintings are 25 percent off. Kilim bags are 20 percent off.

Sioux Falls ARTmart , 230 S. Phillips Ave. - Shop in the historic Shriver Square building as 50 local artists display their work for sale.

Sioux Falls Design Center , 108 W. 11th St. - It's the first annual Great Gingerbread Build open house and judging. View all the entries from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. before they are redistributed to downtown retail locations for display.

Sticks and Steel , 401 E. Eighth St., Suite 118 - Santa and his crew are hanging out at Sticks and Steel Visit with Santa as he wanders the boardwalk at 8th & Railroad, and see his elves, the Siouxland Woodturners, in action. They'll be making tops, toys and all kinds of wood-turned gifts for adults and children from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery gals at Sticks and Steel will be giving away bags of reindeer treats to all of the good boys and girls in the store.

The Market,196 E Sixth St. - The store is offering  a wine and spirits tasting and sale  from noon to 4 p.m. Save up to 50 percent off.
