  • FA Tackle #77
The Bengals again find themselves in need of veteran help along their offensive line after Jonah Williams departed for Arizona earlier this offseason. Brown played the last three seasons in New England, starting 33 games across 37 appearances for the Patriots. The nine-year veteran tackle has performed extremely well when healthy throughout his career but has also struggled to stay on the field, playing more than 11 games just once in the previous five seasons.
  • SF Quarterback #15
The four-year veteran joins his fifth NFL franchise and should immediately become the primary backup behind quarterback Brock Purdy in San Francisco. Another wonderlic test standout, Dobbs should make any transition at quarterback less involved for the 49ers should Purdy miss any time in 2024. That said, Dobbs displayed issues with ball security with the Vikings and Cardinals last season, something that likely kept him from earning a starting gig with another team this offseason.
  • DET Guard #70
The 12-year veteran made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2023 as a member of the Ravens. Zeitler has started 181 games across 182 professional appearances and brings size and veteran savvy to a retooled Lions offensive line. It remains to be seen whether or not Zeitler displaces Graham Glasgow on the right side or Kayode Awosika on the left side, but Zeitler has played almost exclusively right guard during his illustrious career.
  • DAL Running Back #23
We’re less than a week into the new league year, but Dowdle’s return could prove important for fantasy purposes. While it’s possible the Cowboys will use an early pick on a running back in the draft, the free agent market has already seen its top players sign with new teams. Dowdle, who totaled 505 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns as Tony Pollard’s backup, could be asked to play a larger role in 2024. It’s too early to suggest Dowdle would be anything more than a fringe RB3/RB4 at this point, but his ability to work on early downs and passing downs would make him an interesting option late in drafts if the Cowboys don’t add any running backs of note.
  • LV Running Back #2
Mattison’s visit with the Raiders apparently went well, as the two sides are reportedly set to join forces for this season. Mattison rushed for 700 scoreless yards last season, but the real winner in this deal may be Zamir White. Josh Jacobs is in Green Bay, and while Mattison has proven to be a solid backup, he shouldn’t threaten White for significant touches. Assuming the Raiders don’t invest major draft capital at running back, White will have high-end RB2 upside, with Mattison serving as his handcuff.
  • NO EDGE #99
Young’s contract is fully guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The former No. 2 overall pick split time with the Commanders and 49ers last season and finished the year with 25 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and seven TFLs. The 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year has dealt with a torn ACL and questions about his efforts on and off the field in recent years, but now has a chance to begin anew in New Orleans. Pairing with veteran Cameron Jordan, Young will look to bolster a Saints pass rush that ranked 29th in total sacks (34) last season.
  • TB Cornerback #4
Thomas visited with the Buccaneers last week and has now agreed to a one-year deal. The former Texan appeared in nine games last season, missing four games with a broken hand. The veteran corner did not appear in the Texans’ final four regular season games and didn’t appear in either of their two playoff games. Thomas earned a PFF coverage grade of 69.5 last season and allowed 32 receptions for 331 yards and one touchdown on 39 targets.
  • LAC Center #56
Bozeman started all 17 games for the Panthers last season but was released earlier this month despite signing a three-year, $18 million contract extension last offseason. A former sixth-round pick by the Ravens in 2018, Bozeman has carved out a solid NFL career through his first six years in the league and now gets to team up another Harbaugh in Los Angeles. He earned a PFF blocking grade of 62.2 last year and was credited with allowing a career-high eight sacks on 32 pressures — also a career-high. The singing of Bozeman suggests Corey Linsley, who has been rumored to be on the verge of retiring, may be walking away from the game in the near future. The Chargers restructured Linsley’s contract earlier this offseason when they lowered his $11.5 million base salary for 2024 to the veteran minimum.
  • FA Safety #32
Buffalo already lost safety Jordan Poyer to the Dolphins, and Micah Hyde is currently a free agent who seems unlikely to return to the team. According to Schultz, Blackmon “has several suitors” this free agency cycle after he totaled four interceptions, 88 tackles, and five TFLs in 2023 while also breaking up eight passes. It was a career year for Blackmon, who will be 26 at the start of next season and could make an immediate impact on a defense desperate for help in the secondary. Blackmon would walk into a significant role with the Bills if the two sides can agree to a deal.
  • FA Tackle #69
According to Rapoport, Bakhtiari is “diligently rehabbing and is focused on returning to play.” Credit to the veteran lineman for continuously battling to to get back on the field, but it goes without saying that Bakhtiari has been working to return from the same devastating knee injury that ended his 2020 campaign. Bakhtiari has played in only 13 games since 2021 and played in one game in both 2021 and 2023. Set to turn 33 in September, Bakhtiari’s age, coupled with his injury, may prove to be too much for him to return at a high level of play.
