She didn’t post THAT on Instagram! Inside the former home of glamorous blogger that 'appalled' landlords claim she left covered in dog faeces and make-up stains - and with £5K rent unpaid

A glamorous YouTube star with hundreds of thousands of followers left her rented home covered in make-up smears and dog mess, according to her former landlords who claim she owes them thousands of pounds in unpaid rent.  

Paul and Paula Hopwood rented the property in Prestwich, just outside of Manchester, to beauty vlogger Kayla Jenkins - known online as Okaylaaa - and say she and her flatmate racked up rent arrears amounting to almost £10,000, forcing the couple of go to court seeking an eviction order. 

They were seen on the Channel 5 show Bad Tenants Rogue Landlords entering the property after it had been vacated by the 24-year-old, to find dog faeces left in a Tupperware container, what appeared to be animal urine staining the curtains, bin bags piled up in the garden, and make-up smeared on furniture.  

'To just walk in and see that it had been completely wrecked was absolutely soul-destroying,' Paula said, voicing her fears over 'thousands of pounds worth' of potential damage.

Kayla's management told FEMAIL in a statement that the couple made false claims and 'staged the dog mess in the container to make her look bad on TV', and that Kayla's mother had cleaned the house when she vacated the property. 

They added that the YouTuber, who has over 600,000 YouTube subscribers and over 100,000 Instagram followers suffers from anxiety and depression, and that 'while renting Mr Hopwood's property, her income dried up during a severe state of depression whereby she couldn't work' - a fact they say she communicated to her landlords.

The YouTube celebrity had moved into their old home along with her friend Casey Petchy and - despite the rental agreement stating that no animals were allowed - numerous pets.

Kayla's management explained that the while there are £9,500 in rent payments outstanding, because there were two tenants she only owed £4,750 - £1,950 of which they say she has paid - with the other half owed by Casey.

As well as a soiled mattress the couple were appalled to find the curtains stained with what appeared to be urine from her pets

Paul claimed that the last time he was able to visit the property Kayla had 'five dogs, four cats, two budgies, two guinea pigs and three rabbits' living there, something which Kayla disputes. Her side says she had one puppy, which her landlords knew about.

The couple, who now live in a different property, said they had been at the end of their tether due to the persistent failure to pay rent, so went to court and were awarded an eviction order. 

They were seen on the Channel 5 programme making an initial unsuccessful attempt to enter the property, knocking on the door, which had a note stuck to it that read ‘still here do not enter 9th aug’.

'It makes my blood boil,' Paula fumed. 

'She is in there, she’s making money in our house, using it as a film set for her videos and not paying her rent and there’s nothing we can do,' Paul added as they stood outside the house. 

Not only was there urine, but Paula discovered a tub of dog faeces in the basement that appeared to have been left behind by Kayla

The YouTuber admitted to damaging the mirror in the property which Paula found smashed and propped up against a wall

The couple found rubbish piled up in bin bags in the back garden of the property as well as their own cushions from the house stained and ruined

Kayla launched her YouTube channel in 2010 and has amassed over 600,000 subscribers with her make-up tutorials and glamorous Instagram pictures

There was no answer at the door, but while they were outside the property a police car turned up which infuriated the couple even more: 'It was literally just a big middle finger to us wasn’t it.'

'We’re just two nice normal people and we’re having to deal with the police, it was quite scary, quite daunting.'

They explained to the police officers that Kayla had not paid them rent for five months, telling them 'she owes us £10,000’, and further that the sum did not account for legal fees or any cost of repairs.

The police were allowed to enter the property by the occupant, who relayed the message to Paul and Paula that she would be moving out the following Monday.

An angry Paula asked how the house smelled with the unidentified policeman responding that it was ‘pungent’.

The vlogger said that when her self-employed work 'dried up' she couldn't pay rent but was happy to set up a payment plan

Paul and Paula visited the property with their eviction order for Kayla that had been granted to them by the court

On the door a note was posted which read 'still here do not enter', despite Kayla's landlords having an order for her to vacate the premises

The couple discovered the carpets had been chewed through to the floorboards by the animals living in the house

Paula was horrified when she discovered that Kayla had failed to clean up after her pets leaving behind an unwelcome present

When the couple picked up the mattress they discovered what appeared to be marks from make-up foundation staining the bed

Nearly every room in the house was damaged, from broken drawers to chewed wood on the stairs

They returned a few days later to find the property, which they said they had spent ten years making a home, vacated and in a state of disarray.

An upset Paula said: 'I’d discussed all this with her, we’d said you need to love and respect it like we do and she’d said “yeah of course we will”. 

'To just walk in and see that it had been completely wrecked was absolutely soul-destroying.'

'Ugh the smell, it actually makes me feel like I’m going to be sick,' she added. 

As the couple assessed the damage they found a plastic container of dog faeces in the downstairs basement which was used as a gym, as well as what they said were animal urine stained curtains.

It appeared that every room had been damaged in some way, from chipped skirting boards, a smashed mirror, the wallpaper peeling away, broken drawers, and carpets chewed by animals.

Paula and Paul, who lived in a different property, said that they would have to spend thousands fixing the house up

When they entered the bathroom the shower curtain was smeared in make-up hand prints on the shower curtain and the mattress in a similar condition. 

‘The whole house is going to have to be ripped out. All the carpets.

‘It’s just thousands and thousands of pounds of damage,' the couple said.

'I am totally and utterly appalled at what she has done to our home, I just can’t believe it.

'I am not ok, I am appalled. I feel sick. Not just from the smell,' cried Paula.

In response to the allegations made Kayla Jenkins told Channel 5 producers that she kept fewer pets than her landlord claims and that Mr Hopwood was aware she had a puppy.

Miss Jenkins alleged that Mr Hopwood is a 'rogue landlord who is making false claims that she left the property in poor condition' and that 'the house was thoroughly cleaned by her mother on the day she moved out'. 

Her management acknowledged the mirror was damaged and 'is embarrassed and sorry that she was unable to pay her rent' and that she 'could not help that fact that work opportunities dried up' due to a bout of depression.
