Sandra Louise “Sandy” (Chase) Pilares, 59, of Canton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a wonderful and caring mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Sandy was born on June 24th, 1959, in Sharon, Connecticut, to David and Alice (Cookingham) Chase. Sandy’s caring and compassionate demeanor was characteristic of her long career as an ICU nurse, having worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA and UConn
Health Center in Farmington, CT. She loved spending time in Northern California with friends and attending Bob Seger concerts all across the country. Her heart was full of love for her church community, and pride in her family's history.

She is survived by her three sons, Kyle Christopher of Cambridge, MA, Jason Thomas of Avon, CT, and Shawn Michael and his wife Bethany of Greenwich, CT; her twobrothers and their partners, David Chase Jr. and Colleen Hurst and Wallace and Sheila Chase, all of Sharon, CT and her former husband, Romulo Pilares of Canton, CT. She was predeceased by her father, David Rodney Chase Sr., and her mother Alice Marion Chase.

Calling hours and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21st at the North Canton Community United Methodist Church, 3 Case Street in North Canton, CT. The calling hours will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, with the memorial service to follow at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sandy's memory can be made to the Sandy Pilares Memorial Fund at the North Canton Community Methodist Church.
