It’s a good weekend for Bay Area foodies, no matter where you live.

OAKLAND: The Food Craft Institute’s Eat Real Festival takes over Jack London Square on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-24, with street food booths (all bites/small plates $10 or less), artisan vendors and demos. Free admission. Hours, 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22; 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23; and 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24.

SAN JOSE: Now in its second year, BBQ in the Glen has grown to become a competition featuring eight professional pitmaster teams and 14 amateur teams. On Saturday, Sept. 23, the public may buy barbecue samples, other food, plus local wine, craft beer. Free admission. Hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Downtown Willow Glen, Bank of America parking lot.

LOS GATOS: A new event, Eat Drink Los Gatos, will feature local restaurants and wine, beer booths downtown along North Santa Cruz Avenue from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. You can walk up and buy food and drink by the plate or glass, or buy a Wine Walk ticket for $45 from the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce.

GILROY: The fourth annual CARAS Tamal Festival will fill downtown Gilroy with tamale vendors, arts and crafts booths, a low-rider, Harley and bicycle show and more. Free admission. Hours, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24. Event benefits CARAS, the Community Agency for Resources, Advocacy and Services.

MORGAN HILL: Downtown restaurants and South County vintners will show off their stuff at the music-filled Taste of Morgan Hill along Monterey Road. The event, now in its 28th year, runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, and until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. Free admission.
