MISSOULA – Authorities have released the name of a 57-year-old Missoula woman who was struck and killed by a train in western Montana.

The Missoulian reports Dawn Humphrey died after she was hit by an empty coal train at a private railroad crossing about 5 miles south of Arlee on Thursday.

Missoula County sheriff's spokeswoman Brenda Bassett says the coroner's office is waiting on a toxicology report and other test results before ruling whether Humphrey's death was an accident.

The sheriff's office was helped in its investigation by Montana Rail Link and tribal police from the Flathead Indian Reservation.
