Lauryn Hill just announced that she will be touring in 2018 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her iconic album, ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’. The popular songstress will kick off her North American summer tour on July 5 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, VA.
(Can’t wait until July? Lauryn Hill will also be performing at the Kaya Fest in San Bernadino, CA on April 29 and will make an appearance at the Greenwich International Film Festival on June 1st in Greenwich, CT.)
For those who are unfamiliar with Lauryn Hill’s career, Lauryn got her start singing with the band, The Fugees, and then transitioned to being a solo artist with the release of her critically acclaimed album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ in 1998. The critically acclaimed album debuted at the number one spot on the US Billboards list and has sold over 8 million copies. The album earned her a record breaking 5 awards at the 41st Grammy Awards, including recognition for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Best New Artist.’ Some of the most popular songs from the album include, “Doo Wop (That thing),” Everything is Everything,” and the “Ex-Factor.” Her song lyrics weave beautiful stories about life, love, and the challenges of relationships, which make them relatable to many people.
Soon after the release of her album, Lauryn Hill disappeared from the limelight claiming her newfound fame was too stressful to handle. Since then, she has inspired a number of sampled songs by modern artists such as Drake, Method Man, and Kanye West. But, now she is back to the delight of many fans and will be sharing proceeds from her tour with her favorite charities.
Tickets are now available at Stubhub.com, starting at $44. Some locations require parking passes, so be sure to take that cost into consideration as well. Celebrate Lauryn Hill’s triumphant return to touring and get your tickets now before they sell out!
